Who We Are

HCE Consulting is led by me, Helen Charles-Edwards, but rarely do I work alone. I enjoy collaborating regularly with other like-minded consultants and firms from my vibrant and broad network.

Meet Helen

I have been working in Organisational Change for over 20 years. I have experience working in and with a range of global and UK based organisations, both big and small, and from various sectors; I love the stimulation and stretch that this variety provides. I find huge fulfilment in partnering clients as we navigate the highs, lows and ‘mess’ of change together.

Prior to working as a Consultant and Coach, I worked for the John Lewis Partnership and the Woolworths Group, where I had operational and commercial experience in addition to positions in Organisation Effectiveness, Talent and Change. A consultant now for 15 years, I have worked independently and as a Director within a consulting firm.

I am passionate about my own development. I hold a PGDip in Management Studies from the University of Oxford, the ILM level 7 Diploma in Leadership Coaching and Mentoring, and a Certificate in Agile Project Management. Additionally, I am a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) in the Organisational field of application. I enjoy learning with and from my colleagues and clients.

I live in St Alban’s with my husband and son. I am a keen runner, theatre lover and have more recently developed a passion for gardening.

Here are some of the consultants and firms I collaborate with

  • “I love working with Helen because she has high standards of client care, delivers at pace and is brilliant at forming open, honest and trusting relationships central to true collaboration.”

Clare Joghee, Owner and Consultant at Clare Joghee, Organisation Development Ltd

  • “Most transformation programmes fail to deliver all their intended objectives because people get in the way. We’ve met no one who understands this, and how best to mitigate it, more than Helen”

Matt (Partner) and Sam (Director) at PWC UK

  • "What Helen achieves is a way of getting past biases to open minds to what and where the true problems might be. People engage, stay engaged and quickly see other perspectives, which enables deeper understanding and encourages a commitment to change."

Helen Blake & Mary Pasby, Futurecurve

  • “I have particularly appreciated Helen’s presence on the trickier engagements we have worked on, where a 'one size fits all' approach simply doesn't wash, and a more nuanced understanding of human behaviour is required, without losing sight of the need to move to wise action."

    Steve Hearsum, Edge & Stretch

  • "Helen brings clarity, confidence, and a collaborative spirit that transforms ideas into lasting results that people will want to support.”

    Martin Saville, Mayvin
